Wayne A. Caron, Ph. D.,
L.M.F.T., was a faculty member in the Department of
Family Social Science, University of Minnesota. Dr. Caron had
worked for eighteen years as a family therapist and researcher in Alzheimer's disease, and
he maintained a clinical practice and group program that helps families cope
with progressive dementia. Dr. Caron had made numerous presentations to the Gerontological Society of America, the American Association of Marriage and
Family Therapists, the American Medical Directors Association, and the
Alzheimer's Association. Sadly, Dr. Caron has
passed away August 24, 2007 unexpectedly.

James J. Pattee, MD
James J. Pattee,
M.D., was a physician in clinical family practice for approximately 30 years.
He served as medical director for North Ridge Care Center - a large nursing
home in Minneapolis with a 100 bed Alzheimer's unit. Dr. Pattee is a former
board member of the American Geriatric Society and a past president of the
American Medical directors Association. He was professor emeritus, Department of
Family Practice and Community Health, University of Minnesota. Dr. Pattee is
the author of two previous books: Medical Direction in the Nursing Home:
Principles and Concepts for Physician-Administrators and Health Care
Future: Defining the Argument, Healing the Debate. Dr. Pattee passed away several years ago Orlo J. Otteson, MA
Orlo J. Otteson,
MA, a writer, educator, and social analyst, has taught English and American
Studies at both the secondary and university levels, and has edited and
coauthored several books in the health care area. He currently serves as
president of the Center for Value Inquiry, Saint Paul Minnesota.
